P1ROCEAAVLA. tIOW ZV.JIEREAS, the City of Yakima celebrates our local small6usinesses and the contributions they make to our local economy and community; and ZWEEEAS, according to the V.S. Small Business Administration, there are currently 30.2 million small6usinesses in the `JnitedStates and they represent 99.7 percent of all businesses with employees in the VnitecfStates; and WRIREAS, 90% of consumers in the `JnitedStates say Sma(CBusiness Saturday has hada positive impact on their community; and WREREAS, 89% percent of consumers who are aware of SmaffBusiness Saturday said the day encourages them to Shop Small allyear fong; and TWE1c?EAS, 73% of all consumers who reportedly Shopped Small at independently - owned retailers and restaurants on Small Business Saturday did so with friends or family; and ZLfE12EAS, the most reported reason for consumers aware of the day to shop and dine at small, independently -owned businesses was to support their community; and PWLEREAS, the City of Yakima supports our local6usinesses that create jobs, boost our local economy and preserve our communities; and PWLEREAS, advocacy groups as well as public and private organizations across the country have endorsed the Saturday after Thanksgiving as Small Business Saturday.
