HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/06/1975 Adjourned Meeting 365 MAY 6, 1975 ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING - TUESDAY, MAY 6, 1975 The City Council met in session on this date at 12:00 Noon in the !Holiday Inn, Yakima, Washington. iCouncilmen present at the meeting were Mayor Bert Broad, Wray Brown, Betty L. Edmondson, Dick Jarms, W. K. "Pete" Moore and Don Schussler. councilman Simmons absent. The Council gave further consideration to the proposals for the I/ ■Bicentennial Pavilion. The City Manager advised them that the ( Thunderbird proposal had not yet been received by the City that it ( apparently was not in the mail after all, but was intended to be submitted within the next day. The Council gave some consideration to the engaging of an advisor Or counselor to assess the proposals, but decided instead to rely on the recommendations of the City Staff ;together with the Ad Hoc Committee's view of the merits of each ,proposal. After some further discussion, the Council decided to !schedule a report from-the Thunderbird on its proposal, if it larrived, on Tuesday, May 13, at their regular Council luncheon, and ;to hear a report from Joe Dietzen on the Mall's interests at 4:00 p.m. ITuesday afternoon. A report from Paul Cook was set for Wednesday, May 14, at 4:00 P.M. The Ad Hoc Committee will be invited to meet with the Council May 15 at 4:00 P.M. At 1:00 P.M., it was MOVED by Brown, seconded by Edmondson that the 1Council move into executive session.to discuss the Human Relations !officer recruitment. There being np fO.rther business to come before the Council, it was, !MOVED by Schussler, seconded by Moore that we do now adjourn at the hour of 1:35 P.M.: carried, Broad, Brown, Edmondson, Jarms, Moore and Schussler 'voting aye by voice vote.
