SPECIAL MEETING
The City Council net in session on this date at 10:00 a.m. in the
Council Chambers of City Hall, Yakima, Washington, in a special meeting
called by Mayor Lynn Carmichael for the purpose of visiting with Senator
Slade Gorton. Council members present . were Mayor Lynn Carmichael,
Clarence ' Barnett, Lynn Buchanan and Shirley Doty. Henry Beauchamp, W.
K. "Pete" Moore and Jack Sparling absent.
Senator Gorton responded_to questions posed by, Mary Tenney, Mayor of
Naches, ,Senator Alex Deccio, Linda Walker, Harrah Council member, Mike
Quinn, Selah City Supervisor, - John Sweesy, Selah, Hank Robertson, Selah
Council member, Rudy Cortez, Mayor of Mabton and members of the press,
relating to local economic issues.
It was MOVED by Buchanan, seconded by Doty that the meeting adjourn at
the hour of 10:50 a.m. Unanimously carried by voice vote. Beauchamp,
Moore and Sparling absent.
