SUMMARY EXPLANATION
This action would set the date of October 19, 2010, for a public hearing on the 2011 CDBG and
HOME Action Plan The public hearing before the City Council will provide an opportunity for and
consideration of comments on the Plan Council must also adopt the final draft of the 2011 CDBG
and HOME Annual Action plan for submittal to the Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD)
Explanation
• Investment of the federal funds received by the City of Yakima through the CDBG and HOME
programs is guided by a 5 -year strategic plan and an annual action plan The 2011 Annual Action
plan is for the second year of the 2010 -2014 strategic plan Public input meetings were held on
August 4 and September 1, 2010 Comments made at those meetings will be included in the Plan
The 2011 CDBG and HOME Annual Action Plan has been advertised and is available for public
comment September 13 through October 13, 2010 All written comments received during the
thirty -day comment period will be included in the Plan
