ITEM TITLE: Introduction of Finance & Budget Director Steve Groom

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Steve Groom is experienced in local government and is highly respected by the people he has
worked with. Steve brings to the City his expertise that he has developed over his career as well
as a connection to the Pacific Northwest. Steve spent part of his childhood in Olympia and has
grandchildren currently living in Portland. Mr. Groom has served in several finance-related
capacities in both the public and private sectors. He has been the Finance Director for the City of
Palestine, Texas and the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Keller, Texas. He also has worked
for the non-profit Phoenix Houses of California, a substance abuse treatment organization and
Burbank, California-based UniHealth Ventures Pharmacy.
