HomeMy WebLinkAboutAFSCME/Yakima FireFighters Association - MOU re "Fire Code Inspectors" position changeMEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF YAKIMA, AFSCME MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES LOCAL 1122, AND YAKIMA FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION LOCAL 469. THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) is made and entered into by and between AFSCME Council 2, Washington State Council of County and City Employees representing Local 1122 Municipal Employees, Yakima Firefighters Association Local 469 (IAFF), the City of Yakima, a Washington Municipal corporation ("City"). This MOU memorializes the agreements between the City and the Unions regarding the represented classes listed in this MOU as "Fire Code Inspectors". All parties acknowledge that these represented classifications have been negotiated in accordance with RCW 41.56. The City and the Unions agree that the provisions as set forth in this MOU supersede any conflicting provisions in the two (2) Collective Bargaining Agreements covering the periods of terms for the AFSCME 1122 Municipal and Local IAFF Local 469 Collective Bargaining Agreement. Whereas, the City of Yakima, the Unions agree that the position of Fire Code Inspectors transfer from AFSCME Local 1122 Municipal Employees to the Yakima Firefighter Association Local 469 (IAFF) effective January 1, 2019. Whereas, the City of Yakima and the Unions, agree the employees of the City of Yakima in the Fire Code Inspector classification will maintain their seniority dates reflective the amount of time they had been a continuous employee with the City of Yakima Municipal Employees AFSCME Local 1122.
