setting the time and place for hearing on October 2, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the City
of Yakima Council Chambers to hear from the public on the draft Upper Yakima
River Comprehensive Flood Hazard Management Plan — 2018 Cowiche
Addendum
WHEREAS, in 2007 the Upper Yakima River Comprehensive Flood Hazard Management Plan
(CFHMP) addressed flood risks posed by the Lower Cowiche Creek and its confluence with the Naches
River. Recent studies and flood events have demonstrated the need to update the CFHMP with new
data; and
WHEREAS, the 2018 CFHMP Cowiche Addendum has been prepared in response to
incorporate new data, flood studies, proposed mitigation measures and other related materials; and
WHEREAS, a Technical Advisory Committee comprised of staff from Yakima County, City of
Yakima Washington State Department of Transportation, Washington State Fish and Wildlife services,
Mid -Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group, Yakima County Office of Emergency management,
Washington State Department of Ecology, land owners and others participated in drafting this 2018
CFHMP Addendum; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The draft Upper Yakima River Comprehensive Flood Hazard Management Plan — 2018
Cowiche Addendum shall be presented for hearing and determination by the City Council on
Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the hour of 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers of the City of
Yakima, at Yakima City Hall, 129 N 2nd Street, Yakima, WA , or as soon thereafter as the same
so that all persons interested may appear and be heard, and that notice of such hearing shall be
given as approved by law.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 2nd day of October, 2018.
