Meeting Minutes of September 23, 2015
Call to Order
Chairman Dave Fonfara called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.
Roll Call
YPC Members Present: Chairman Dave Fonfara, Carmen Mendez, Al Rose, Ron
Anderson, Patricia Byers
YPC Members Absent: Vice -Chair Scott Clark (excused), Bill Cook (excused)
Staff Present: Jeff Peters, Supervising Planner; Trevor Martin, Assistant

Staff Announcements
Supervising Planner Jeff Peters announced that he and Senior Planner Valerie Smith are
working on staff reports for the 2015 Comprehensive Plan Map Amendments and that a
public hearing notice for these proposals will be sent soon. Peters added that any
discussion regarding the 2015 Text Amendments can occur towards the end of the
meeting.

Consideration of a Special Public Hearing Date for the PreliminAU Long Plat of
"'Summit View's PLP#003..15
Assistant Planner Trevor Martin provided background information regarding this
proposal. He requested that the Commission hold a public hearing for this proposal on
November 4, 2015. Commissioner Rose made a motion to hold a special meeting date
on November 4th at 3:30 p.m. for the public hearing regarding the preliminary long plat
of "Summit View'. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
City of Yakima Hazard Mitigation Plan Presentation
Jeff Peters explained that this item is coming before the Planning Commission due to
the adoption process which requires a public meeting to be held. He mentioned that the
Commission can make a recommendation to City Council on this matter if they feel it is
necessary.
Emergency Management Analyst Charles Erwin presented the City of Yakima Hazard
Mitigation Plan and its goals to the Commission, answering questions from the
Commissioners along the way. The Commission had consensus to have a follow-up
public meeting in which they will make a recommendation to City Council in regards to
the plan presented.

Chairman Fonfara indicated that he would like time to review the text amendments.
Peters asked the Commission to e-mail any comments to himself or to Trevor Martin by
Monday September 28t".
Adjourn
A motion to adjourn to October 14, 2015 was passed with unanimous vote. This meeting
adjourned at 4:43 p.m.
