SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
On July 23, 2017, the Washington State legislature enacted new requirements under RCW
42.56.120 regarding charges for copying public records. RCW 42.56.070(7) requires any
statement of costs may be adopted by an agency only after providing notice and public hearing.

RESOLUTION NO. R -2018 -
setting the time and place for hearing on August 21, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the
City of Yakima Council Chambers to hear from the public on the proposed
City of Yakima Public Records Fee Schedule.
WHEREAS, on July 23, 2017, the Washington State legislature enacted new requirements
under RCW 42.56.120 regarding charges for copying public records; and
WHEREAS, RCW 42.56.070(7) requires any statement of costs may be adopted by an
agency only after providing notice and public hearing, Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The proposed City of Yakima Public Records Fee Schedule shall be presented for hearing
and determination by the City Council on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the hour of 6:30 p.m. in
the Council Chambers of the City of Yakima, at Yakima City Hall, 129 N. 2nd Street, Yakima,
Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same so that all persons interested may appear and be
heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as approved by law.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 61h day of August, 2018.
