21%ifEREAS, our community's three health centers are a vital -part of our
community, expanding access to quality health care for allpeople, helping to contain
costs by encouraging prevention and integrating the delivery of primary care with
outreach, patient education, translation, and other enabling services; and
WIFEREAS, during National Community Wealth Center Week, we annually
recognize the importance of these health centers for their role in providing affordable
and accessible care; and
WIFEREAS, these community health centers also play a sign f cant role as major
local employers and an important source of economic growth; and
WIFEREAS, (Yakima Neighborhood Wealth Services, partnering with the other
community health centers and many agencies in the City of (Yakima, has led the effort to
help uninsured residents enroll in a health insurance plan that meets their needs and
their budget,
'14 IE1?SEAS, (Yakima Neighborhood Wealth Services has grown from a staff of
five caring for about 20 patients to serving 148,500 patients across the (Yakima galley,
NOW, �I`JfEREFORE, I, Kathy Coffey, Mayor of the City of (Yakima and on
behalf of the (Yakima City Council, do hereby proclaim the weekofAugust 12-18, 2018
as
'NATIONAL J EALD-f CENTER WEEK"
in the city of (Yakima and urge our community to recognize the multitude of ways in
which community health centers are `America's Wealth Care J-feroes. "
