Barge- Chestnut Neighborhood Historic District

SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Set date for City Council public hearing on September 21, 2010
to consider the Resolution adopting the Design Guidelines and administrative procedures for
the Certificate of Appropriateness process.
On August 25, 2010 the Council Neighborhood Development Committee and city's Historic
Preservation Commission reviewed the revised design review guidelines and unanimously
approved of the Design Review Guidelines for the Barge- Chestnut Neighborhood Historic
District, and accompanying Certificate of Appropriateness as proposed.
0 Council member Ensey has requested the set date be delayed in order to have additional time
to review the Guidelines.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Set Date of Closed Record Public Hearing for September 21,
2010.
BOARD RECOMMENDATION: Historic Preservation Commission recommended approval of
the Design Guidelines on June 23, 2010. On August 25, 2010 a unanimous recommendation
of approval was given at a joint public meeting of the Council Neighborhood Development
Committee, and the Historic Preservation Commission.
