ITEM TITLE: Recommendation from the Council Healthy Communities and
Neighborhood Building Committee requesting the Washington
State Attorney General's opinion related to proselytizing at
homeless shelters receiving public funds

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
At the April 19, 2018, HC NBC meeting, the Committee voted 2-1 that the Committee forward to
the full council a request for an authoritative opinion on the first amendment issue of proselytizing
in publicly funded homeless programs and that Councilrequest an opinion of the State Attorney
General's office.
