WYPER .,LS, water is our most valuable natural -resource; and
WYPERMS, only tap water delivers public health protection, fire
protection, support for our economy and the quality of lfe we enjoy; and
WYPERMS, any measure of a successful society — low mortality rates,
economic growth and diversity, productivity, and public safety — are in some way
related to access to safe water; and
`G1fE12MS, we are all stewards of the water infrastructure upon which
future generations depend, and
`4 {RMS, each citizen of our city is called upon to help protect our
source waters from pollution, to practice water conservation, and to get involved
in local water issues by getting to know their water,
WOW, `I1-{EREEORE, I, Kathy Coffey, Mayor of the City of Yakima and
on behalf of the City Council do hereby proclaim the weekof Uvlay 6-12, 2018 as
DRINKING SVA2'E1R WEEK
in the City of Yakima and urge all citizens to join us in this special observance.
