Gutiérrez 1:30 p.m. November 29, 2016 -- Mayor’s Office 1) Review applications (attached) for term expirations on the Lodging Tax Committee. Per Council policy, the full Council was notified of upcoming expirations on 10/26 and notices on all social media platforms and to the news media were sent on 11/3 with an article related to the vacancies appearing in the Herald shortly thereafter.  Lodging Tax Advisory Committee – two terms expiring 12/30/16 (two-year term) Two vacancies for members who are representative of businesses required to collect tax. i. Colette Keeton, Howard Johnson, (incumbent -- has reapplied) ii. and Lisa Vallejo, Hilton, (incumbent -- has reapplied) Responsibilities: When Council proposes the imposition, increase, or repeal of an exemption from a tax under RCW Chapter 67.28, such proposal shall be submitted to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee for review and comment at least 45 days before final action on the passage of the proposal by the City Council. The Committee's comments shall include an analysis of the extent to which the proposal will accommodate activities for tourists or increase tourism, and the extent to which the proposal will affect long -term stability of the fund used for paying the costs of tourism promotions, acquisition of tourism -related facilities, or operation of tourism-related facilities.  Southeast Community Center – one vacanc y (four-year term) No applications on file. Requirements: Appointees are based upon the recommendations of the Board of Directors . No term limit.  Police & Fire Civil Service – one term expiring 12/30/16 This is a City Manager appointment with Council confirmation. 2) Other business 3) Adjourn
