All would like to be reappointed. Since this is a specialized committee, I would
recommend reappointing all. No applications on file.
Requirements : The board of appeals shall consist of seven me mbers who are qualified
by experience and training to pass on matters pertaining to building construction and are
not employees of the jurisdiction, and who shall be appointed from the following areas:
one architect; one engineer, one building and constru ction contractor; one developer; one
representative from the general public, one Washington state journeyman plumber; and
one Washington state journeyman mechanical contractor.
Historic Preservation Commission
Joe Mann—is completing his 2 nd term and this Committee is limited to 2 terms

(possibly update ordinance to provide 4 year term and no limitations?) No applications on

Requirements: The Commission shall always include at least three professionals who
have experience in identifying, evaluating, and protecting historic resources and are
selected from among the disciplines of history, architecture, architectural history,
landscape architecture, historic preservation, planning, folklore, cultural anthropology,
prehistoric and historic archaeology, American studies, curation, traditional building
crafts, the practice of historic rehabilitation or restoration, finance and banking, law, and
real estate, or related disciplines.

David Heinl—both are recommended as appointments by John Cooper and Connie
Upton.
Requirements: Shall not be members of the legislative authority of the Cities of Selah,
Union Gap, or Yakima at any time while serving on the Board. Have knowledge and/or
experience in tourism, convention, and/or related business. Diversity of backgrounds,
ethnicity, gender, education, cultures, industries, business experience, etc. desirable.
Must be bondable.
