Council: Mayor Kathy Coffey, presiding, Council Members Maureen Adkison, Holly Cousens
and Bill Lover
Staff: City Manager Moore, City Attorney Cutter, Communications & Public Affairs Director

Absent: Assistant Mayor Carmen Mendez (excused), Council Members D. Gutierrez
(excused) and A. Gutierrez
2. Council updates
Mayor Coffey asked if there were any Council updates. Council Member Lover discussed
incubators including his understanding that 010, RCDR and YCDA are similar to incubators.
Mayor Coffey would be interested in knowing if the County or HUD helps fund any of these
entities.
Council Member Cousens discussed honoring important women from the community and
asked about policies related to naming streets or buildings after individuals. City Manager
Moore stated they would bring policies back to Council for review. Ms. Cousens reported the
motorcycle toy runs went well.
Council Member Adkison reported on her recent trip with the Sister City Committee to
Morelia, Mexico. City Manager Moore noted the City has plans to surplus a fire engine from
1992 and the Sister City Committee is raising funds to purchase the fire engine for Morelia.
Mayor Coffey noted Lea Kroneberg's "Community Perceptions of Gangs in Yakima" was
well done.
Agenda preview
City Manager Moore reviewed the November 21 and December 5, 2017 agendas. It was
consensus to move the Downtown Parking Meter issues to the December 5, 2017 agenda.
4. City Manager update
City Manager Moore reviewed a list of topics and provided an update to Council.

5. Adjournment
MOTION: Cousens moved and Adkison seconded to adjourn to the next City
Council Business Meeting on November 21, 2017, at 6 p.m. in the Council
Chambers. The motion carried by unanimous vote, A. Gutierrez, D. Gutierrez and Mendez
absent. The meeting adjourned at 5:57 p.m.
