The August 24, 2017 minutes were reviewed and approved as presented. #iscussion Items: 1 Review of Alaska Airlines meeting Hawkins reported that he and Rob Peterson met with representatives with Alaska Airlines to talk about next steps and current issues. While the City is focused on increasing flights in and out of Yakima, due to a national pilot shortage flights are being cancelled or reduced all over the country, Some smaller airports could lose all air service. Yakima will lose its fourth flight in December but it will return in January. Print marketing efforts have temporarily stopped until airlines are able to resolve current issues. Staff will be researching different flight options and reporting back to the Committee. 2. Profiles in Business Video As part of the Strategic Plan, the Image Committee is producing some business profiles on various industries in Yakima (shared Adventurer RV video). Coffey suggested that the videos be played at the Airport. Peterson will look into it. 3. Yakima Valley Tourism Marketing Efforts John Cooper reported on marketing efforts of Yakima Valley Tourism. Jared walked through the website with the Committee members and played some videos from the sit Coffey suggested that YPAC air some of the videos from the site. Randy Beehler will follow up with Jared. I writers. Six travel writers will be in Yakima for Fresh Hop Festival, Jared created a new selfie booth that will go in at the Airport, This idea came up after the All America City visit last year. Update Items: 1. Truck Route Ad Hoc Committee next steps Hawkins reported that the mailing list has been created and invitations will be going out in the next few weeks. The first meeting is scheduled for November 2 at 3:30. 2. Valley Brewing Company SIED Application Hawkins reported that the SIED application will be reviewed by the City Council at the October 3rd meeting. a Sites for Business — There is activity happening on a few of the vacant sites. Incubator — The City Council has a study session on October 24th. Educational alignment — Coffey would like to see movement on this topic. Coffey requested that a meeting with the core group be scheduled in the next few weeks.
