RE: HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) —YHA Veteran Supportive Housing &
Service Center Conditional Award Letter
Dear Mr. Krueger,
The City of Yakima is pleased to provide notification of conditional funding of up to $500,000 for
the Yakima Housing Authority's Veteran Supportive Housing & Service Center project located at
the former United Stated Marine Corp Armory at 1702 Tahoma Avenue, Yakima. The
redevelopment of the Armory combined, with the addition of new housing units on-site, will
create 40 units of supportive housing for homeless veterans. The redeveloped Armory will also
include social service programs for homeless veterans in the community.
Final decisions regarding the awarding of HOME funds must be approved by the Yakima City
Council. At this point in time, we anticipated presenting this project for Council consideration in
September 2018 for 2018 HOME funds.
Sincerely,
Archie Matthews
