W"XEREfS, Lou 'artelli was born and raised in the (Yakima galley and
graduatedfrom.Ifghlandlfigh School- in 1970; and
WXtEREA3, after graduation Lou served in the L.5. Navy aboard the VSS
White Plains during Vietnam and returned home in 1974; and
WIPEREAS, Lou "the Professor" Qiartelli began his radio career at KIT in
1974 and has been providing on air entertainment ever since; and
WWIREl54S, people have enjoyed Lou's talents on KAIWX, Kfl'911, IJYDD
and Che TAI formore than 40 years in the (Yakima Palley; and
EREA3, Lou has participated in numerous parades, fairs, festivals, charity
events and community gatherings impacting the community; and
WX?EREAS, his retirement is bittersweet for the many listeners, coworkers,
friends and family members who have enjoyed Lou's talents; and
WWIRSEfS, Lou wilt officially retire from his radio career on September 15,
2017,
NOW tXfEREF'Ofl, I, Kathy Coffey, Alayor of the City of (Yakima and on
behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim September 15, 2017 as
Lou "Zile Professor" Bartefi Day
in the City of (Yakima and extend our very hest wishes to him in his future
endeavors.
