The Yakima Valley SunDome at State Fair Park is an important and substantial economic generator for the City of Yakima and the Yakima Valley. Here is a recap of the first six months of 2017 for Yakima Valley SunDome: Visitors from outside a 50 mile radius are up 9% YTD at 24,950 compared to 22,876 last year; Event days held in the SunDome are down 11 %YTD compared 2016 YTD. We are at 59 this year compared to 66; Lodging room nights due to events scheduled at the SunDome are down 13% compared 2016 YTD. We are tracking 10,083 this year compared to 11,639; Estimated economic impact is down 15% YTD at $9.2 million compared to $10.9 million last year. The main reason for the decreases listed above is due to not hosting: the WA Music Educators Assn Biennial Conference (which occurs on even years) and estimated to generate $3.5 million in economic impact and 2,500 lodging room nights. WIAA restructured the 1A/2A Boys and Girls Basketball Championships held in March by adding one more tournament day. This addition created a $1.2 million in estimated economic impact and 800 additional hotel room nights. Staff attended the PACnet National Conference over February 12-15 in Newport, CA to learn marketing trends and how maximize ticket sales for events at venues. Staff also attended the IAVM (Intl Assn of Venue Management) Regional Conference in Bellevue over May 1-3. Tracking the origin and number of visitors to our website is a tangible measurement/indication of potential visitors coming to the Yakima Valley as a result of events taking place at State Fair • — Home of the Yakima Valley SunDome and Central WA State Fair� Our website User involvement showed an 8% increase over YTD 2016. Reports show 48,780 users this year compared to 45,060. The most significant overall Increase in user origin came from Seattle at 35% compared YTD 2016. This year, Seattle has tracked 14,157 user sessions so far compared to 10,501 in 2016. We are continuing to list Yakima Valley Tourism's lodging reservation system on our website.
