ITEM TITLE: Resolution changing the time of the June 20, 2017, public hearing
on the Six -Year Transportation Improvement Program from 6:30
p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Yakima City Council set June 20, 2017 as the date for a public hearing to consider the 2018-
2023 Six-year Transportation Improvement Program and proposed amendments to the Capital
Facilities Element of the Yakima Urban Area Comprehensive Plan. The hearing was originally
scheduled for 6:30 p.m., however, the City Council meeting time was changed and therefore, the
public hearing time needs to be changed. The public hearing will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Yakima
City Hall Council Chambers.

RESOLUTION NO. R -2017-
A RESOLUTION setting the time and place for the hearing on June 20, 2017 in the
City of Yakima Council Chambers to review and adopt the Six-
year Transportation Improvement Program and amend the Capital
Facilities Element of the Yakima Urban Area Comprehensive Plan
for the period of 2018 to 2023.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a six-year
program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the
ensuing six-year period, all as contemplated and required by State RCW 35.77.010 and
applicable federal law; and
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima desires to amend the Yakima Urban Area
Comprehensive Plan Capital Facilities Element to reflect the adoption of the Six-year
TIP, as contemplated and required by RCW 36.70A.070(6) to ensure compliance with
the Growth Management Act and consistency of the Comprehensive Plan and the Six-
year TIP; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held on said programs before final
approval, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That said program shall be presented for hearing and determination on Tuesday,
June 20, 2017, at the hour of 2:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City of Yakima,
at Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be
heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as approved by law.
