ITEM TITLE: Set date of May 16, 2017, fora public meeting to consider a
request of Notice of Intent to Commence Annexation Proceedings
for property in the vicinity of South 64th Ave and Ahtanum Road

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Fairway Investments LLC and DH Construction &Associates LLC have submitted for City
Council's consideration a Notice of Intent to Commence Annexation Proceedings for property
located on the corner of S 64th Ave &Ahtanum Rd.
The proposed annexation area is approximately 14 acres in size, consisting of 18 tax parcels.
The land is now undeveloped and zoned R-2, Two Family Residential. The annexation petition
was signed by 100% of the property owners.
State law governs the procedures for annexations. In Washington, annexations may be
accomplished through a petition method which requires a two-part process that begins with a
Notice of Intent to Commence Annexation. On May 16, 2017 City Council may decide to accept
the request and proceed with annexation procedures; modify the boundaries of the request; or
not accept the request for annexation.

to determine whether the City will accept the proposed annexation.
