ITEM TITLE: Ordinance relating to Public Services; amending the City of Yakima
Municipal Code for the purpose of updating the fee schedule for
certain police services

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The ordinance is a housekeeping measure and updates the fee schedule for certain police
services to be consistent with State law, and removes fees for services which are no longer
provided by the Yakima Police Department. Police services fees were last updated in 1997.

ORDINANCE NO. 2017-
AN ORDINANCE relating to Public Services; amending the City of Yakima Municipal Code
for the purpose of updating the fee schedule for certain police services.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The following section, 1.70.010, of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
1.70.010 Generally.
A. Fees Imposed. There is imposed a fee payable by each person requesting
services listed in subsection B of this section.
B. Schedule of Fees and Collection. The police chief is authorized to charge and
collect fees from each person requesting any services listed below according to the
following schedule:
Service Unit Fee
1. Fingerprint cards (not classified—not including Per card $ 5.00
applicants for concealed weapon permits) YPD Supplied card
Additional per card $ 3.00
2. Verification report of lost or stolen property and Per report $ 10.00
crimes against persons
3. Traffic accident report (including witness Per page $ .15
statements if requested by the victim or victim's
representative). (RCW 42.56.120)
Accident reports beginning 2016 are also BuyCrash $ 12.00
available at w.buycrash.com.
