A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the City Manager of the City of Yakima to
designate certain Transit bus washing equipment as surplus and
authorizing its disposal in the manner most favorable and profitable
to the City and in a manner consistent with the law.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima's Transit Services Division has recently installed a
completely new bus wash system; and
WHEREAS, the installation of this new system has resulted in replacing
technologically obsolete equipment; and
WHEREAS, the equipment previously used by the City to wash Transit buses is no
longer used or needed and is therefore surplus to the needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, the following equipment is deemed to be surplus:
1) SSI Corporation Model 5399B, S/N 5399BD4C18, Gantry Type Bus
Wash.
2) Landa, Inc. Water Maze Model 3100D Alpha Water Cleaning System,
S/N W0294-9629.
WHEREAS, the storage space occupied by this surplus equipment could be more
effectively utilized; and
WHEREAS, the disposal of the surplus property would be to the common benefit of
the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager of the City of Yakima, or his designee, is hereby authorized and
directed to dispose of the surplus bus washing equipment designated herein in a manner
most favorable and beneficial to the City and in a manner consistent with the law.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 12th day of December, 2006.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Early in 2006, the obsolete gantry type bus washing system was replaced with a new system.
The replaced equipment is consequently surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and is
taking up scarce space that could be better utilized.
