R-2005- 154 A RESOLUTION declaring the attached list of automatic rifles with equipment to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the Police Department, and authorizing their trade-in through the formal sealed bid process WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns used automatic rifles and equipment, per the attached list, for which the City and the Police Department have no immediate or foreseeable use and which are surplus to the needs of the City and the Police Department; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to trade-in said automatic rifles with equipment now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned list of used automatic rifles and equipment to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the Police Department, and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to trade-in said used automatic rifles and equipment through the formal sealed bid process in conjunction with the purchase of new rifles. Yakima Police Department desires to offer the rifles for trade-in through the sealed bid process, in conjunction with the purchase new rifles. Funds realized from the trade-in will be credited to the new purchase. The traded weapons will be resold only to law enforcement agencies.
