A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the City Manager of the City of
Yakima to designate one 1995 Caterpillar 928F
Articulated Front Loader as surplus and authorizing its
disposal as a trade-in for the purchase of a new
replacement in a manner consistent with the law.
WHEREAS, during the 2005 Equipment Replacement Budgeting
process one 1995 Caterpillar 928F Articulated Front Loader, Serial Number
2XL00893, Equipment Number ER 6054, was approved for replacement by
the City; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned equipment has exceeded its service
life expectancy and will be replaced with a new Caterpillar Articulated Front
Loader and is therefore deemed to be surplus to the needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, the equipment replacement selection is complete and the
aforementioned surplus equipment would be most financially advantageous
to the City if used as a trade-in for its replacement Front Loader and such
trade-in would be to the common benefit of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager of the City of Yakima, or his designee, is hereby
authorized and directed to dispose of the surplus equipment designated
herein through a trade-in for its replacement equipment and in a manner
most favorable and beneficial to the City and consistent with the law.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION: During the 2005 Equipment Replacement Budgeting
process, Equipment Number ER 6054, a 1995 Caterpillar 928F Articulated Front
Loader, Serial Number 2XL00893, was approved for replacement by Council. The
replacement selection process is complete and the old machine is most financially
beneficial to the City if used as a trade-in for the new machine, also a Caterpillar
Articulated Front Loader.
