SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Police Department currently has several used police vehicles in the Equipment Rental
and Replacement Division, which are in excess of the City's needs. The Department
would like to offer the vehicles for trade-in to the Washington State Surplus.
These vehicles are scheduled to be removed from the fleet and disposed of at auction.
The City will receive greater compensation by trading these vehicles in rather than selling
them at public auction. The vehicles we propose to trade in are a 1999 Ford Crown
Victoria, VIN/2FAFP71QIXXX144983, equipment # 1345 with 85,000 miles; a 1998 Ford
Crown Victoria, VIN/2FAFP7IWXWX109444, equipment # 1311 with 81,040 miles; a 2001
Ford Crown Victoria, VIN/ 2FAFP71W01X159689, equipment # 1394 with 76,113 miles;
and a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, VIN/2FAFP71 W91 X159691, equipment # 1396 with
83,843. Funds realized from the sale of these vehicles would be credited to the Yakima
Police Department's equipment replacement account in the Capital Fund.
