A RESOLUTION authorizing the execution of an Intergovernmental Cooperative
Purchasing Agreement with Link Transit, Wenatchee, WA.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima and Link Transit desire to arrange for making
cooperative purchases of certain goods and services; and the City Council of the City of
Yakima deems it to be in the best interests of the City that such an arrangement be carried
out according to the provisions, terms and conditions of the attached agreement document
and that it is in the best interests of the City that the attached agreement document be
executed, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The City Manager and City Clerk of the City of Yakima are hereby
authorized and directed to execute an agreement with Link Transit for the purpose
mentioned above, a copy of which agreement, entitled "Cooperative Purchasing Agreement,"
is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof.

COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT

In accordance with Chapter 39.34 RCW, LINK TRANSIT and the City of Yakima agrees
to a cooperative governmental purchasing agreement for modified low floor minivans
using Link Transit's competitively awarded contract (s) #2002-01.
Link Transit therefore extends the use of its contracts to the City of Yakima to the extent
provided by law and upon the following terms:
1. The vendor(s) agree to extend to the City of Yakima, the terms and conditions of
Link Transit's contract(s).
2. City of Yakima accepts responsibility for compliance with any additional or
varying laws and regulations governing its purchases. Any purchases by City of
Yakima shall be effected by a purchase order from City of Yakima and directed to
the vendor.
3. Link Transit accepts no responsibility for the performance of any of the
purchasing contracts by the vendor.
4. Link Transit accepts no responsibility for payment of the purchase price by
City of Yakima.
This agreement may be revoked at any time in writing, by either party.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Staff respectfully requests approval of an agreement authorizing the City of Yakima and
Link Transit in Wenatchee, WA, to arrange joint cooperative purchases of certain goods and
services.
Pursuant to Chapter 39.34 RCW Interlocal Cooperation Act, the City of Yakima Equipment
Rental Division, has requested this agreement be administered in order to purchase a 2004
Eldorado Minivan for $33,495 plus tax, that Link Transit has already sought bids for and has
awarded to Schetky Northwest, Inc., located in Portland, OR.
Execution of this agreement is specifically for this bus. This issue was discussed with the
Council Transit Committee and they understand the benefits of this purchase and are in
favor of it.
This agreement shall remain in effect until canceled by either party.
