RESOLUTION NO. R-2003- 128
declaring the 72 -inch Toro lawnmower surplus and
authorizing the sale of the 1997 Toro mower to the
Highland School District.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns a 1997 Toro Groundmaster Mower,
equipment number ER#5203, for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable
use and which is surplus to the needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, Highland School District has offered $3,000 for the mower
which is a reasonable price; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of
the City to sell the mower forthwith rather than sell it at the public auction of
surplus equipment at a later date, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
YAKIMA:
The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned 1997 Toro
Groundmaster Mower, equipment number ER#5203 to be surplus to the needs of
the City of Yakima, and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
sell said 1997 Toro mower to Highland School District for three thousand dollars
($3,000) dollars plus sales tax.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THIS 7th of October 2003.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Parks and Recreation Division has a surplus lawnmower, a Toro 1997, 72 -inch
325 D Groundmaster (vehicle #ER 5203). This unit has been replaced with a new mower.
The Highland School District, a non-profit organization, has asked to purchase the Toro
mower at fair market value. Current value is $3,000.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff respectfully requests Council to adopt the resolution
declaring surplus and authorizing disposal of the 1997, 325 D Groundmaster, 72 -inch
Toro mower #ER5203, and accepting fair market value for this surplused mower from the
Highland School District.
