R -2003 -loo WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 14.08 RCW, and by the Joint Air Terminal Operations agreement dated June 30, 1982, the County of Yakima ("County") and the City of Yakima ("City") jointly own and operate the Yakima Air Terminal -McAllister Field ("the Airport"); and, WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 14.08.120, the County and the City must vest authority for the sale or lease of any property, real or personal; and, WHEREAS, the Yakima Air Terminal Airport Manager and the Airport Board requested permission to sell a building owned by the airport pursuant to Section 7 of the Airport Joint Agreement and RCW 14.08.120; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Yakima County Commissioners and the Yakima City Council find that the sale of the hanger building located at 2008 West Washington is appropriate and in the public interest; now, therefore, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY YAKIMA COUNTY AND THE CITY OF YAKIMA that the Yakima Air Terminal is hereby authorized to sell a building owned by the airport as requested. The property has been a steady drain on airport resources and needs upgrading desperately. We have a buyer who conforms to all the requirements the Board has set forth and will use it for aviation only. As you know the building is for sale and not the land. We will lease the land to the buyer.
