A RESOLUTION declaring one 1998 JCB Backhoe (ER 6068) surplus
and authorizing its sale to the City of Woodland,
Washington.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns a 1998 JCB Backhoe, equipment
number ER 6068, model 215E 4WD BHL Series 3 with the Serial Number
SLP215TCWE0475686, for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable use
and which is surplus to the needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has purchased a new replacement
backhoe; and
WHEREAS, the City of Woodland, Washington is interested in
purchasing the aforesaid JCB Backhoe for the current market value of twenty-
five thousand dollars ($25,000) plus tax, which is a reasonable price; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of
the City to accept the City of Woodland, Washington's offer to purchase the
backhoe and proceed with the sale of the 1998 JCB Backhoe forthwith, rather
than sell the equipment at a public auction of surplus equipment at a later date,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
YAKIMA:
The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned 1998 JCB Backhoe,
ER 6068, model 215E 4WD BHL Series 3 with the Serial Number
SLP215TCWE0475686, to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima, and the
City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell said 1998 JCB Backhoe to
the City of Woodland, Washington for twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000)
plus sales tax.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this '7.rw day of January 2003.

Dear Richard:
The City of Woodland would like to purchase your 1998 JCB backhoe Serial
#SLP215TCWE0475686 along with buckets, attachments and the breaker unit. We
agree to the purchase price of $25,000, plus tax, "as -is, where -is" condition. It would
be our intention to forward a check upon your acceptance of this offer.
Upon your acceptance we will make arrangements for transportation and notify you of
the time frame of the move,

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Equipment Rental Division has one surplus JCB Backhoe (ER 6068). This piece of
equipment has been replaced with new equipment, and the City has no immediate or
foreseeable use for this backhoe.
The City of Woodland, Washington is interested in purchasing this equipment and has offered
$25,000 plus tax for the backhoe. This is a reasonable offer since the current value is
estimated to be $25,000.
