Dr. King called on our Wation to ensure equal justice under law and uphold our founding ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for allpeople. Only when our children are free to pursue their furl measure of success—unhindered 6y the color of their skin, their gender, the faith in their heart, the people they love, or the fortune of their birth —will we have reached our destination. Dr. King believed that all people are made in Gods image and created equal: lie dedicated his fife to empowering people and challenged them to l ft up their neighbors and communities. lie encouraged Americans to lookpast their differences and refused to rest until our dation fulfilled its pledge of liberty and justice for all. Today, let us askourselves what Dr. King believed to 6e fife's most urgent and persistent question: "What am I doing for others?"
