R-2002-69 A RESOLUTION fixing the time and place for a public hearing on the Six-year Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for the period of 2003 through 2008. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six-year Transportation Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State and Federal law, and WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held on said program before final approval, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That said program shall be presented for hearing and determination on Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at the hour of 2:00 PM on said day, in the Council Chambers of the City of Yakima, at Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as approved by law. Cook, CED Department Director, 575-6227. The Six-year Transportation Improvement Program is required to be updated every year. This requires a Public Hearing and an adoption process. In order to complete the Public Hearing and adopt the STIP in a timely manner, we should set the Public Hearing for the June 18th meeting. The City is required to submit our adopted STIP by July 1, 2002, to the approving authority.
