R-2002-37 A RESOLUTION fixing the time and place for hearing on an amendment to the 2002 through 2007 Six Year Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). VMEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State and Federal law, and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima; and WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held on said amended program before final approval, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Y . That said amended program shall be presented for hearing and determination on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at the hour of 2:00 PM on said day, in the Council Chambers of the City of Yakima, at Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as approved by law. Cook, GED Department Director, 575-6227. SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Attached is a copy of the proposed amended Six -Year Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) for the 2002 — 2007 planning years. This amendment to the STIP will obligate funds for an updated traffic model for the urban area (Priority No. 36). This work will be accomplished using Federal funds and will be administrated by the City Engineering and Public Works staff. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Set Public Hearing Date for April 16, 2002.
