A RESOLUTION declaring the vehicles on the attached list surplus and authorizing their
sale.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns seized vehicles listed on the list attached hereto,
for which property is surplus property, for which property should be sold in the manner most
advantageous to the City, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of
seized vehicles owned by the City listed on the attached list hereto by selling said property at a
public auction sale at a time and place and in the manner determined by the City Manager to be
most advantageous to the City; and the City Manager is further hereby authorized to hire
services of an auctioneer and incur other necessary and reasonable expenses mcidental to such
sale, with the cost of such sale to be paid from the proceeds thereof.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 19th day of February, 2002.

ITEM TITLE: Resolution Declaring Seized Vehicles as Surplus and Authorizing
Their Sale at Public Auction

SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Staff respectfully requests that the seized vehicles on the
attached list be declared surplus and sold by public auction. Last year, the City/County
Narcotics Unit netted $32,840 from the sale of seized vehicles. This year's spring auction will
be held on Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Heaverlo's Auctions. Expenses incurred from this sale
are paid for from the gross proceeds. The net proceeds are distributed back to the CCNU
asset forfeiture fund.
