ATTEST: 1<Q ✓ £ ( , c -"- CITY CITY CLERK John Puccinelli, Mayor BUSINESS OF THE CITY COUNCIL YAKIMA, WASHINGTON AGENDA STATEMENT For Meeting of ITEM TITLE: Disposal of Surplus Alarm Receiving Equipment SUBMITTED BY: Wayne Wantland, Communications Manager CONTACT PERSON/TELEPHONE: Same, 575-6048 SUMMARY EXPLANATION:. The Yakima Communications Center currently owns a used Linear 3000 Alarm Receiver that is in excess to the Center's needs. This receiver was removed from the center when it was replaced with new, more technologically advanced receiving equipment. This receiver has no value to the City and was in fact scheduled for the auction prior to this inquiry, where we believe we would have received minimal return. Through inquires with local alarm companies we have determined that there is little if any value to any alarm service providers other than the Medical Security Corporation of Portland, Oregon. Staff recommends that the City Council declare the Linear 3000 Alarm Receiver surplus and that ownership be transferred to Medical Security Corporation for the nominal amount of $200.
