Three Locust trees currently exist in the area where the sidewalk is to be replaced. The southerly two trees are scheduled to remain. The tree wells will be increased to 5' X 5' to accommodate additional growth. The roots of the northern most Locust tree are substantially above the elevation of the new sidewalk and pruning these roots would seriously damage the stability of the tree. Two additional younger trees are closely spaced to the north in the large planter area. Our proposal is to remove the northern Locust tree and allow the existing smaller trees to expand.
