R-97- 111 A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the City Manager and the City Clerk of the City of Yakima to execute an architectural services agreement with Patrick Leuner. Landscape Designs to develop a Master Plan for new development at Tahoma Cemetery. WHEREAS, the City desires to develop an additional nine (9) acres at Tahoma Cemetery; and WHEREAS, the City requires professional architectural services to develop a Master Plan for the additional development; and WHEREAS, the City does not have the staffing levels or specialized expertise necessary to provide said architectural services; and WHEREAS, Patrick Leuner Landscape Designs has the experience and expertise necessary to provide said architectural services and is willing to provide such services in accordance with the terms and conditions of the attached agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City of Yakima to enter into an agreement with Patrick Leuner Landscape Designs for professional architectural services in accordance with the terms and conditions of the attached agreement; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager and the City Clerk of the City of Yakima are hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached and incorporated agreement with Patrick Leuner Landscape Designs for professional architectural services to develop a Master Plan for new development of an additional nine (9) acres at Tahoma Cemetery. The Master Plan will incorporate the following site and landscape elements/issues: relationship with neighboring properties, i.e., school district bus barn and screening; relationships with existing cemetery; circulation, layout of future plot areas, screening, planting design; grades; views; soils; Japanese garden layout for the Japanese lower valley community. Design scope of work, costs and notes as follows: MAS 1ER PLAN • Site visit to photograph, measure and record existing elements and conditions.. • Collect site plans and data from the Parks Depar intent. • Collect city ordinances and requests for street trees. • Base plan preparation. Commute 8 hrs. Mileage — 420 miles at .32 $134.40 Field/Meetings/Office 7 hrs. DESIGN • Preliminary Master Plan design. • Preliminary Master Plan design review via mail or UPS/telephone calls. • Final preliminary design. • Final preliminary design review w/Parks Dept. in Yakima. • Design revisions. Commute 8 hrs. As the 57 -acre established burial sites at Tahoma come closer to maximum capacity, it is imperative that we plan for further expansion of the cemetery facility. Costs for the Master Plan are not to exceed $5,000. Funds for the design will be drawn from the Parks and Recreation Professional Services Budget.
