Since the beginning of these Independence Day activities, shuttle bus services have been provided free to the public. Last year a volunteer donation was requested. The Transit Operators involved donated their time which greatly reduced operating expenses(to $628.26). Thus, the revenue received ($381.73) covered more than half the Transit Division's direct or out of pocket costs. It was proposed that the policy of providing the public the opportunity to make a voluntary donation be continued in 1997. The attached resolution was prepared for that purpose.
