Copeland, Director of Public Worksl'j CONTACT PERSON/TELEPHONE: Bill Schultz, transit Manager/575-6005 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The Ford Foundation is funding a youth training program, called the Quantum Opportunity Program, through the OIC in cooperation with the school district and Davis High School. However, program funding does not include transportation costs. Rather than ask the City to donate bus passes, the Quantum staff would like for the participants to have a chance to earn bus passes. To that end, compensation for labor services will be provided in the form of Youth Transit Passes. Approximately 50 high school freshman students are involved in the program, which will follow them through their high school years and, hopefully, into college or technical training.
