!TEM !'TI'LE:Intergovernmental Cooperative Purchasing Agreement

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Request for approval of agreements authorizing the City of Yakima and the Port of
Sunnyside, Town of Tieton and Town of Naches to arrange joint cooperative purchases.
In conjunction with State Senate Bill 5038 (RCW 36.115) which provides a mechanism
for using service agreements to coordinate the provision of regional services, and in the
spirit of intergovernmental cooperation, the City of Yakima participated in Government
Services Forums, part of which entailed entities from around the Valley utilizing City
contracts to obtain goods and services at City rates, thus saving the taxpayers considerable
dollars. Pursuant to Chapter 39.34 RCW Interlocal Cooperation Act, the entities listed
above have requested these agreements be administered in order to purchase
miscellaneous goods and services that the City of Yakima has already let via public sealed
bid. Execution of these agreements will allow the above entities to purchase
miscellaneous goods and services utilizing City of Yakima contracts without having to go
through the bid process themselves
These agreements shall remain in effect until canceled by either party.
