City of Yakima staff in attendance:

- Comm. & Public Affairs Dir. Randy Beehler
- Continuation of discussion from May 22"d, 2015 Council Partnerships Committee meeting
concerning Drainage Improvement Districts #29, #38, #39, #40, #41, and #48.
City Attorney Jeff Cutter shared with committee members a proposal prepared by his office in
response to a proposal previously presented to the City by Yakima County regarding the future of
Drainage Improvement Districts #29, #38, #39, #40, #41, and #48, all whose boundaries are
within the current Yakima city limits. Yakima County has proposed to either dissolve the districts or
transfer their assets to the City of Yakima. Cutter discussed terms of the City's proposal that are
different than those of Yakima's County's original proposal, primarily those terms related to long-
term liability for the infrastructure of the districts should Yakima County dissolve them.
Mayor Cawley and Councilmember Adkison suggested that the committee may or may not need to
meet again to discuss the potential future of the districts based on Yakima's County's response to
the City's proposal. The City's proposal has been provided to the Yakima County Commission
office and the City is awaiting a response. The necessary continued involvement of the committee
in the process of how the future of the districts is determined will be decided based on Yakima
County's response to the City's proposal
The meeting was adjourned at 2:47 pm.
