For Meeting of: October 18, 2016 ITEM TITLE: Resolution changing the name of Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples' Day in the City of Yakima SUBMITTED BY: Jeff Cutter, City Attorney SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The City of Yakima prepared a draft resolution to recognize October 10th as Indigenous Peoples' Day. The resolution is in draft form awaiting input from the Yakama Nation. If the Nation responds prior to Tuesday's Council meeting, a final version will be distributed at the meeting for Council consideration.
