For Meeting of: September 20, 2016 ITEM TITLE: Public hearing to consider amending the Yakima Municipal Code related to land use regulations and locations pertaining to recreational and medical marijuana production, processing, research and retailing of such uses by adding the Small Convenience Center zone to the list of zones in which marijuana retail would be acceptable SUBMITTED BY: Sara Watkins, Senior Assistant City Attorney Joan Davenport, Community Development Director SUMMARY EXPLANATION: At the September 6, 2016 City Council meeting, the City Council directed that a public hearing be set on September 20, 2016, to address an amendment of the land use regulations and locations to allow marijuana retailers in the Small Convenience Center (SCC) zones. A series of four maps have been prepared to illustrate the existing conditions of Ordinance 2016 -08 and the impact of the suggested changes.
