NOMINATING '-' COMMITTEE _ MINUTES
June 16, 2016 -- Mayor's Office
The meeting convened at 11:10 a.m.
Council present: Holly Cousens, Avina Guti&rez and Bill Lover
Staff present: Sonya Claar Tee
1) The Committee discussed the interview process and reviewed questions to ask the
candidates. Claar Tee noted one candidate, Sandra Mortenaen, has withdrawn from the
process.
2) Council members interviewed the following applicants for the Planning Commission:
• Shannon Bird
• Tom Trepanier
• Patricia Byers
• Nicholas Arnold
• Al Rose
• Isaac Garcia
3) After Committee discussion, MOTION: A. Gutierrez moved and Cousens seconded to
recommend reappointment of Patricia Byers and Al Rose to the terms expiring and bring two
applicants, Shannon Bird and Tom TrepGnier, forward for Council to review for the vacancy.
The motion carried by unanimous vote.
MOTION: A. Gutierrez moved and Cousens seconded to recommend Greg Lybeck for
appointment to the Lodging Tax Committee. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
It was Committee consensus to request applicants include their resume when applying for
the exploratory committees.
4) The meeting adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
