For Meeting of: November 19, 2024 ITEM TITLE: Presentation on the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan process required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) SUBMITTED BY: Bill Preston, Community Development Director SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and 2025 Annual Action Plan are in process of being drafted by Resource Consultants LLC. The Consolidated Plan documents the community need as well as the implementation plan for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME)funds over the next five years, while the 2025 Annual Action Plan identifies the actions and activities that will take place in that program year. This presentation will provide information about the plan and outline the process for updating it. Public hearings will be held in the future at which time public comments will be received by Council on the draft plan which will be made available, in addition to a public comment period for written comments that will be advertised. ITEM BUDGETED: N/A STRATEGIC PRIORITY 24-25: A Safe and Healthy Yakima RECOMMENDATION: Presentation to explain the Consolidated Plan and process. Public meetings with opportunity to review the draft 2025-2029 consolidated plan and receive public comments will be scheduled in the future.
