SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
This action would set August 3, 2010 as the date for a public hearing to amend the six-year TIP. This
TIP amendment is required to add two projects that have recently received funding.
The projects include:
1) Divide the 64th Avenue Roadway Widening, Washington Avenue to Tieton Drive project that is
currently listed as TIP Priority #65 into two projects. The TIP Priority #65 project will be 64th
Avenue Roadway Widening, from Nob Hill Boulevard to Tieton Drive. A new project (TIP
Priority #82) will be 64th Avenue Roadway Widening, from Washington to Nob Hill Boulevard;
and,
2) Powerhouse/William O. Douglas Trail Connector (TIP priority #83).
A recent call for projects from the Surface Transportation Program (STP) resulted in the City receiving a
$900,000 grant for making improvements to 64th Avenue from Nob Hill Boulevard to Tieton Drive. STP
funds provide a maximum of 86.5% of the projects cost.
A recent call for projects to be funded by Transportation Enhancement Grants resulted in the City
receiving a $283,278. Transportation Enhancement funds will provide 100% of the project funds.
