R-2024-159 A RESOLUTION declaring certain rolling stock surplus and authorizing the City Manager to dispose of said property in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima (City) owns various used rolling stock for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable use and which are surplus to the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, the City's Waste Water Collections has determined Equipment Rental assets ER3231, 2007 Sterling Vactor Sewer Truck, to be surplus equipment; and WHEREAS, ER3231 has an estimated value that exceeds $15,000; requiring City Council approval to be declared surplus; and WHEREAS, once declared surplus, ER3231 will be disposed through an online auction and sold to the highest bidders; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to dispose of said used rolling stock in the proposed manner or in a manner that is most beneficial to the City of Yakima, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned rolling stock to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of said property in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima. ER3231 has exceeded its useful life-expectancy and has since been replaced with a new Vactor Truck for the City's Wastewater Collection crew. This will be placed on auction with a minimum price of$30,000. ITEM BUDGETED: No STRATEGIC PRIORITY 24-25: A Thriving Yakima RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution.
