AN ORDINANCE repealing the City of Yakima Municipal Code Chapter 3.120 relating to The
Yakima Consortium for Regional Public Safety (YAKCORPS) Agency
Fund.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima entered into an Interlocal Agreement for the Yakima
Consortium for Regional Public Safety (YAKCORP) as the fiscal agent, City Contract 2010-068,
and
WHEREAS, the Interlocal Agreement was amended via R-2023-095, identifying Yakima
County as the fiscal agency, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and its residents to repeal section 3.120 in
its entirety; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Chapter 3.120 of the Yakima Municipal Code relating to The Yakima
Consortium for Regional Public Safety (YAKCORPS) Agency Fund is hereby repealed in its
entirety.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days after its passage,
approval, and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 20th day of August 2024.

ITEM TITLE: Ordinance repealing the City of Yakima Municipal Code Chapter
3.120 relating to The Yakima Consortium for Regional Public Safety
(YAKCORPS) Agency Fund

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The City of Yakima was the fiscal agency for the Yakima Consortium for Regional Public Safety
(YAKCORP)from 2010 - 2023. The Yakima Municipal Code contains a specific fund for YAKCORPS, but
it is no longer needed. To keep the code current, staff recommends removing Section 3.120 of the
Yakima Municipal Code.
