AGENDA STATEMENT
Item No. 7.G.
For Meeting of: August 5, 2024
ITEM TITLE: Resolution authorizing Task Order 2024-01 with HLA Engineering and
Land Surveying, Inc. to provide engineering services for City of
Yakima Project No. SC2819 - 2025 Wastewater CIPP Rehabilitation
of Rudkin Road Trunk Sewer Main
SUBMITTED BY: Scott Schafer, Director of Public Works
* Mike Price, Wastewater/Stormwater Manager
SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
City of Yakima (City) project SC2560 will rehabilitate approximately 3,350 linear feet of concrete sanitary
sewer trunk line and seven manholes from S.18th Street at Rainier Place to the Rudkin Road lift station
at Lilac Lane and Rudkin Road. The Project will utilize cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining technology that
minimizes trenching and other surface disturbances. The improvements restore pipeline reliability and
maintainability, and conserve wastewater treatment plant hydraulic capacity by reducing groundwater
infiltration into the pipeline.
Task Order 2024-01 under existing City contract 2023-139 with HLA, is for engineering design, bidding,
and construction services required for the project in an amount not to exceed $216,762. The Task Order
with EXHIBIT 1 - PROFESSIONAL SERVICES is attached for Council review. Funds are budgeted from
Sewer Construction Fund 476.
